About Us
The Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy (MBYRA) is a not‑for‑profit organisation committed to ceating equitable opportunities for young people across the Moreton Bay region. At our core, we operate as a collaborative hub for the five local rugby union clubs — Albany Creek Brumbies, Caboolture Snakes, North Lakes Leopards, Pine Rivers Pumas, and Redcliffe Sea Snakes — working together to strengthen pathways, share expertise, and support youth development across the region.
Our mission is to provide accessible opportunities for personal growth, education, wellbeing, and community connection through high‑quality rugby programs. MBYRA delivers free domestic development clinics and affordable international rugby tours for boys and girls aged 10–18, ensuring that talented youth — including those who may not have the financial means — can access meaningful sporting experiences. Our tours take players to major youth events across Australia and the Asia‑Pacific, where they develop their rugby skills, experience new cultures, and build lifelong friendships.
These opportunities are designed to broaden horizons and strengthen resilience. By stepping into new environments and representing their community, participants grow in confidence, leadership, and cultural awareness. Every program and tour is built around safety, structure, and purposeful learning, ensuring each young person returns home enriched both on and off the field.

The Moreton Bay Youth Rugby Academy is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children and young people. We have adopted the Rugby Australia Child and Young Person Safeguarding Policy to ensure the wellbeing of every participant. This means we have zero tolerance for abuse, bullying, discrimination, or harassment, and all staff, volunteers, and participants are required to uphold the highest standards of conduct. Our academy follows strict recruitment, supervision, and reporting procedures, and we actively promote open communication and education to keep our community safe. By implementing this policy, we aim to foster a culture of respect, integrity, and teamwork where every young person can enjoy rugby with confidence and security.
